Biography

John Jacob Philip Elkann (born 1976) is the eldest grandchild of Fiat patriarch Gianni Agnelli and heir to Italy's most powerful industrial dynasty. Educated in Europe and the US, he became chairman of Fiat at 28 after his grandfather's death and uncle's suicide.

He transformed the family empire, merging Fiat with Chrysler to create FCA, then with PSA to form Stellantis (world's 4th largest automaker). As chairman of Exor, the family holding company, he controls Stellantis, Ferrari, The Economist, and Juventus FC.

In 2024, Italian prosecutors charged him with hiding his grandmother Marella Caracciolo's €1 billion estate from taxation and falsifying tax declarations. He paid €183 million in settlement but faces criminal charges.
